Dear Caleb,
Half a year already! Has it really been that long? I'm amazed every month at how quickly the time is going by. This was another busy month for you! Lots of firsts! You really started liking solid foods this month. And even though it isn't a first, you did try a bunch of new foods and have liked everything we have given you so far. You also eat a lot of it, 2-3 times a day and around 4 oz each time. That's a good amount for a little boy. Because you are eating solid foods, you had your first solid poop (I know, not something you want advertised, but it is a first). You got your first two teeth this month too! They are your bottom teeth and they came in one right after the other.
Two really big milestones for you this month are sitting and scooting. You are sitting up on your own now. You still topple over if you lean too far one one, but we are usually there to catch you before you fall. You also figured out how to scoot around on the floor. At first you did this kind of rolling scoot where you would roll to one side, kick with that food to propel you forward, then roll to the other side and do the same thing. After about a week of that, you figured out the army crawl and are using your arms to help move you forward. You started out only going after paper or my phone, but now you are going after more things. You have to really want the item in order to go after it, but it won't be long before you are crawling like a champ around the house.
You had a few other firsts this month: You took your first bath in the big bathtub. Up until then daddy was still bathing you in the sink. You sat in the grocery cart basked for the first time. I was really excited because I finally got to use my cute grocery cart cover. You used a sippee cup for the first time. Surprisingly, you didn't have any trouble figuring out how to suck water out of it. You weren't really happy that it was only water, but you did drink a little of it. You moved into size three diapers. You try to mimic us when we clap our hands at you. You bring your hands up but can't quite figure out how to clap them yet. It's really very cute to watch!
I think this month rivals last moth with the amount of milestones you achieved! We are coming up to a busy time of year filled with trips and holidays and I am really looking forward to the next few months with you and seeing you achieve new things!
Love,
Mommy
